American Airlines is expanding at its most profitable airport, opening 15 gates in Dallas-Fort Worth International.

American reported the gates that started Friday in Terminal E will let it include over 100 flights on its own American Eagle affiliate.

By June, Fort Worth-based American intends to operate more than 900 flights out of DFW, up from 800. It’s adding 23 new destinations and flights to existing ones.

The move is freeing up space for six gates to get American Airlines that are larger planes at Terminal B.

Company President Robert Isom stated last week that DFW will accounts for the majority of the growth of American this past year.

Isom says reservations and revenue for the flights are somewhat higher than American’s systemwide average.
